I grew up in Washington DC and spent a lot of time at the National Gallery. The collections inside are amazing, and the buildings are beautiful. The Gallery is divided in two wings, the old wing; a neo-classical building, and the modern wing; a sleek angular building. The two buildings are connected underground by a passage that looks like a set from a 60s science fiction movie.
